The Accord Group has specialised in mediation and conciliation of franchise disputes since 1991. Over this time the mediations we have conducted have ranged from multi-party disputes involving entire franchise systems to disputes between a sole trader franchisee and the franchisor.

Our experience and expertise in resolving franchise disputes leads us to frequently address franchise workshops and conferences across Australia and increasingly so in New Zealand and in Asia.

David Newton is the author of "Resolving Franchise Disputes" published by the Franchisors Association of Australia-FAA, now the Franchise Council of Australia.

The Accord Group was appointed by the Australian Government as the Office of the Mediation Adviser (OMA) with the establishment of the Franchising Code of Conduct in 1998. Since then we have administered over 600 franchise disputes and managed a panel of more than 100 mediators nationally.
